I am trying the New Outlook. I cant sort my inbox by typing a letter - am I missing a setting?

I am trying the New Outlook. I used to be able to sort my inbox by column (FROM) and then type in a letter and quickly get to all emails from people starting with that letter. For me that was a quick way to navigate my emails. It does not seem to work like that now. Is there a setting that I am missing or did Microsoft take that out in the new version? I understand that the search bar can be used and filters can be used, but I want the one letter search functionality that I have been using.

    This issue was brought up in another thread two years ago, and still hasn't been fixed. Why functionality is removed is beyond me, especially when people become accustomed to using basic functionality. Please bring this back, I'm switching back to the old Outlook after 1 day of frustration, and dread the idea of having to potentially use the new one.

    I wouldn't hold my breath, the amount of useful features in old/classic outlook that are not in the new/garbage outlook is beyond a joke. Got to laugh that people are getting paid to create this junk
