I'm not able to add my work 365 basic account in this new Outlook anymore. I get this error: "This account is not supported in Outlook for Windows due to the license provided by your work or school. Try to login with another account or go to Outlook on the web."
This is ridiculous that I'm able to add my personal Gmail, my personal Outlook email, but can't add my work account which my company pays money for. Now you want to charge us more by upgrading from basic to standard to able to use your new Outlook I see. I also noticed ads right in my Inbox in this new Outlook. Seriously? Ads too now? Well, it seems like you're very desperate lately dear Microsoft and using such enforcing brute tactics on us - users won't do good for you. It will have opposite effect in fact: Now I will tell my IT boss to switch to Google instead. And guess what? I won't be the only one doing this. You know what's your problem, Microsoft? You never listen and you never care about us. You just do what you want to do and it's all about squizzing money out of us while giving us worst products compared to other companies.
P.S. By the way, your new Outlook sucks and everything you give us lately sucks too.
Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management

Basically, we have a holding co with two other companies underneath the main company. All licensed through the main account.
No idea what a tenants account is sorry, it is very strange that it changed from one day to the next! I think you should discuss that with someone from tech support.
Yes they do all work in the old outlook, if you are fortunate enough not to have updated it. Apparently though, that older version of outlook will only be supported until (I think it was) October this year
Also, they still work in the old Outlook?
I have Tenant accounts under our 365 License, and they cannot be added. They worked until today?
Yes! if i switch back to the old version, both the accounts show up. It's just the new version that i can't add the new account. But the weird thing is i've been on the new version for almost 1 year with both my accounts linked. All of a sudden one gets dropped and i can't add it back on. Something doesn't make sense! Why was it perfectly fine, then all of a sudden not?
That's the frustrating part!
Here's what happened:
In Windows 10 we had app called "Mail" which actually worked fine with any licenses and accounts. They continued to give us this mail app in Windows 11 too. However later, Microsoft decided that it was time to kill this app and replace it with a new Outlook (something they're always good at). So, people updated this mail app to this new Outlook and again you could add any licenses there just like in mail app with no problems. I did too by the way. Then, later, "geniuses" at Microsoft thought: "Why not make a more money out of this, lets put ads in this new Outlook and let's restrict basic plan licenses to use it, so they will be forced to upgrade to "standard" version and we make more money". So, on a next update we got ads in Inbox disguised as an emails and if you log out and try to login with your basic plan subscribtion you get this error". So, either you're forced to pay more money to use this new Outlook, either walk away and switch to other company services. Personally, as a protest and a matter of principle, I refuse to pay more and use their new crappy Outlook and I'm sticking to Gmail instead. I also completely uninstalled their OneDrive and decided to upgrade my free Google drive to Basic version and pay for it to support Google instead of Microsoft as a boycott this vile, atrocious company. I advise everyone to do the same. The less customers Microsoft will have, more likely they will be forced to back down.
