The advanced configuration will allow me to specify an SMTP user name but there is no way to configure the IMAP user name being different from the email-address.

April 2025. I got a notice today to move to 'New Outlook'. Ran into this snag, (can't add custom username for IMAP login) and now my email is broken.

Just be aware this isn't connected to New Outlook - just the old Outlook 365.
As far as I know, the only way to add accounts to Outlook (New) is within the program itself, not via the Control Panel.
At least, that's true with Windows 10. I haven't used Windows 11 yet, so I can't speak to that.

march 2025.. still no fix?
I tried about a week ago - and it was still broken.

I don't think I've seen such a crappy product shoved down users' throats than 'New' Outlook.
This feature IS STILL NOT FIXED on the last day of 2024. Maybe next year?
