Upgrading to new outlook will not accept IMAP accounts

Hi

trying to upgrade but when giving al the information of my IMAP connection the continue button is greyed out.

On another MS forum people are saying IMAP is not enabled yet, is that correct?

Indeed, the new Outlook for Windows does not support IMAP accounts yet. This means that you cannot add your email account from Yahoo!, iCloud, or other providers that use IMAP protocols to the new Outlook app. The new Outlook for Windows currently supports Exchange-backed Microsoft 365 work or school accounts, Outlook.com accounts, and Gmail accounts.

However, there is some good news. The new Outlook for Windows team is working hard to add support for more account types in the future, including IMAP accounts. They have not announced a specific timeline for this feature.     2/12/2025 : Outlook(new) is no longer working with IMAP email accounts. Does anyone know what is causing this problem? How can I get my IMAP email accounts to update or to even be connected?

    Microsoft isn't pure on this issue. I can't think of how they can make money on this move, but I am sure they have. Why else would they put a significant amount of their client base at risk of deserting them. I 'm headed to Apple trading in my android phone along the way. Disgusted with Microsoft. No more renewal of 365, you suck the big one.

    Some versions of New Outlook have a way to revert to classic. It seems to vary, I have found it twice but cannot remember what it was. Here is one article about it.

    Also: Open Outlook. Click the Help menu. Click the Revert to Legacy Outlook option

    Also, I have found on at least one computer the "upgrade" actually just installed it in addition. Look for the executable here

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16
