Upgrading to new outlook will not accept IMAP accounts

trying to upgrade but when giving al the information of my IMAP connection the continue button is greyed out.

On another MS forum people are saying IMAP is not enabled yet, is that correct?

Indeed, the new Outlook for Windows does not support IMAP accounts yet. This means that you cannot add your email account from Yahoo!, iCloud, or other providers that use IMAP protocols to the new Outlook app. The new Outlook for Windows currently supports Exchange-backed Microsoft 365 work or school accounts, Outlook.com accounts, and Gmail accounts.

However, there is some good news. The new Outlook for Windows team is working hard to add support for more account types in the future, including IMAP accounts. They have not announced a specific timeline for this feature. The toggle switch is not on the "New" Outlook so it is not possible to go back.

The thing is:

Since many months, you are able to add IMAP accounts. I have 4 IMAP accounts added. No problem with that, BUT, in New Outlook, when you add an IMAP account, you can't set a Name for the sender.

i.e:

On every email client in the planet, you can do this:

Name: Mr. Contoso
Email: ******@contoso.com

So, when you send a mail, the recipient receives a mail with this headers:

Mr. Contoso <****@contoso.com>**

Instead, in New Outlook, when you send a mail, the recipient receive the mail like this:

@contoso.com <@contoso.com>

See?
I sent many feedback to Microsoft, Outlook team, etc, but it seem they doesn't want to add this option. It's so pathetic and ridiculous, you can't believe it's true. This is the ONLY reason to reject New Outlook. You can't send a proffesional email without this option.

And, as typical Microsoft fashion, they will not be adding this feature, or they will took 10 years to add it. Same happened to lack of signatures and custom fonts on Windows Mail app. They LITERALLY took more than 3 years to add simple signature options.

Don't waste your time. No one should use their products anymore. It's the only way.
