Upgrading to new outlook will not accept IMAP accounts

Every time my present Outlook, the Legacy Outlook, drops out, the new page says "try the new Outlook" because they are not going to support Legacy any longer. OK, so I try to set up the new Outlook and it wants an IMAP PW. Well, MY ISP, Charter/Spectrum does not require an IMAP PW, at least not yet per Spectrum. So, Microsoft, how in hell can I set up your new Outlook if you won't let me because your program software won't let me proceed without an IMAP PW? I have searched this forum and there was a reply from MS that they were "aware" of the problem and were working the issue. That was months and months ago. Now wouldn't you think they would send out an email to all their 365 subscribers informing us of what the progress is, or, if there was a fix, WHAT IS IT? Don't make the customers search all over the internet for an answer that may not even be there. Come on MS, I'm 85 years old, God may call me tomorrow, and my poor wife will not know what to do as I do all the tech stuff.

First Microsoft terminates (or threatens to terminate) existing applications, and pushes us into new software and new licenses (that they themselves then won't recognize), then come to find out the new software ISN'T READY TO DO THE THINGS WE NEED TO DO. Come on, Microsoft! This is garbage. You've cornered the market on business software applications, forcing us to abandon other software and apps that actually did what we needed to do in logical, reasonable ways, and now you subvert the most simple, daily processes with "replacements" that only work within your monopoly, for more money? Has anyone yet considered how fast can the Justice Department break Microsoft apart?

Ah that's the problem though isn't it? It worked before but now, suddenly, it doesn't. Almost like someone on that team disabled the IMAP option.

Let me guess, when it comes back it will be behind a pay wall. Don't, just don't.

What's worse is every time I revert my customers back to Windows Mail, Outlook inevitably reinstalls itself and we're back to square one again. It's incredibly infuriating and you lot need to just STOP IT. If it's not going to work then Windows Mail needs to supported going forward. You cannot replace software with a defective product. Legally I mean. You wouldn't want to get fined by the EU again would you Microsoft?
