Configuring preferences and options in Outlook.com
I switched back to Old Outlook, added the calendar invite there, went back to New Outlook and it was there. None of the other options posted worked for me.

Hi,
I am having several problems with my outlook (new) app.
PS: I am using a gmail account for my outlook.
Any suggestions?
Best, Finn

Apparently you do not use the Outlook (new) app because it does not use .pst files.
What worked for me was going into Apps - Default Apps and associating .ics to the new Outlook client. Then when I clicked on the ics file that was downloaded the Add Calendar box came up and Upload from File was available.
I should mention that I was in 'Calendar' and not Mail in Outlook for the above dialog box to show up.
You don't have to SEND THE EMAIL TO YOURSELFOR ANYONE. Create the new email and JUST add the fileas described above. then JUST click the attached file in the draft. THE DROP DOWN menu has the "Add to Calander " option in the dropdown.. same as the sent/received email in the instructions above. Sending is just extra steps and wasted time.
So just add to calander from you new draft email.. don't bother sending it and waiting for it etc.
You can also just delete the new draft after you add the event. Fini!!
Now I have notIced.. even tho my main calander is google/gmail.. EVENTS ADDED IN MS Outlook new CALANDER DO NOT APPEAR IN GOOGLE CALANDER. DESPITE THAT BEING THE main/default and slected CALANDER MS OUTLOOK. NEW ALLEGEDY ADDED IT TO.
PC MS OUTLOOK CLANDER SEE IT ADDED AND SAYS ITS MY GMAIL ACCT.
I OPEN GOOGLE CALANDER ON MY PHONE.. EVENT DOES NOT EXIST???????
**** AND WHY???
Instructions above also missing how to select a clander..
CREATE THE EMAIL with the corresponding email acct/claander if you have multiple like I do.
So, bear in mind this is a true workaround so it is circuitous and annoying by nature....
- Download the .ics file.
- Create a new email in outlook to yourself.
- Attach the downloaded .ics file.
- Send to yourself. (Note about how annoying it is you have to do this optional.)
- Open your new mail and click on the .ics attachment.
- Click "+Add To Calendar" in the window that pops up.
- Actually get notifications about your meetings...
Good luck.
Microsoft....please sort out this issue.
This is the only thing that worked for me.
Thanks!
