Cannot import .ics file into Outlook (new) app

Hi,

I am having several problems with my outlook (new) app.

  1. I cannot import .ics files into the app as no calendar is available in the "Upload from file" window. I have verified that Outlook (new) is the default for .ics files.
  2. I cannot sync my Outlook app calendar on my laptop with my Calendar app on my Iphone 10. I get an error message when I try to sync it via Icloud.

PS: I am using a gmail account for my outlook.

Any suggestions?

Best, Finn

I am trying to move from the Apple Calendar to Outlook so I can stay synced to Teams and also the Mac Cal. just isn't good enough.

I have exported the ICS file for the entire calendar as an ICS file (home.ics)

When I try to file open from Outlook for Mac (Version 16.84.1 (24042118), or email to myself as in the suggestion, I get the same dialogue and message:

Sorry we couldn’t import some of your file(s). Please try again later.

    Nothing seems to work. Monterey,

This is very frustrating. I have tried different email accounts under Outlook and target calendars with the same result.

Try making sure your microsoft 365 account that you want to import to is the DEFAULT account. Go look at accounts under the settings and choose perhaps your microsoft 365 account as the default. Thank go back and try to import the ics file. If that doesn't work, make a different account the default account and try again.

I also can't import *.ics files on Android 14 with the Outlook App.

If I send the file to my desktop and import it there, it works.

Seems like both Outlook App for iPhoneOS and Android are broken.
