I am really disappointed about the communication of Microsoft. No answers, no new infos. All is dead. At the moment, I have two things not being clearly communicated:
- EAS seems to be an obsolete protocol aswell as it has no oauth2 support. There is no statement from microsoft that this is true or not.
- Calendar Subscriptions (add internet Calendar) are not working for outlook.com Mail Accounts. I have added an internet calendar (ical) which should be updated every 3 hours according to Microsoft documentation. But in fact, its not. It works like an imported calendar file...There is no official statement from microsoft about this issue aswell.
And: With the outlook for android app I even cannot add a internet calendar.
I am a paying customer and are able to contact the support. I only got the answer that all is OK with my account, it has to be the provider of the internet calendar, so the third party.
So Support is useless, we will get no information and I cannot talk to a microsoft employee. The real bad thing is that I have swiched with my E-Mail Accounts to outlook.com because I thought that Microsoft is a long term business...turns out that this was the wrong decision.
Again the following questions:
- Will there be a way for third party apps to access data via a OAUTH2 compatible protocol like EAS was/is for basic auth?
- Is EAS OAUTH2 compatible for consumer Accounts?
- Is there any way to contact a microsoft employee to help with technical questions (I do not mean the 1st level support since they really cannot help me).
By the way, the automatic translation system when contacting the support is a real disaster. Is there any way to speak to native english or german employees?
