Why does Microsoft Outlook keep asking for Password

Why does Microsoft Outlook keeps constantly asking for Password. I even had to change my password thinking it would help. It didn't. Even after I enter password, still continues prompting me to enter password. Just does not go away. And it is also affecting my account with Spectrum Roadrunner to perform other functions that I was able to do without having to enter a password. This problem just recently started and Spectrum can't help since it's a Microsoft issue causing the problem. Tried to get help by calling Microsoft by using the recommended website since I'm unable to get a live person to talk to, but the website Microsoft is directing to go for HELP wants to charge a Fee plus a monthly fee. We purchased Microsoft. Didn't use to have this issue

I have the same issue with my outlook.com account email in Outlook 2019. It seems to happen randomly and I use the same Outlook install for my comcast.net account email. No issues with the Comcast.net email. Outlook 2019 only repeatedly asks me for my Outlook.com email account password. I have no changed anything on my side (settings, password, etc.) for any of my personal email accounts. Seems lots of others have this same problem. Did Outlook/MS recently change POP mail settings recently possibly?? When will MS fix this??

I found that if I closed and re-opened 2-3 times it stopped asking, the, after installing the April updates, it is worse. never stops asking.

Next step is to see about moving to Thunderbird. I only use Outlook for contacts, email and calendar.

My advice is not to fight it. It takes too much time and effort and isn't worth it. The first time it happened to me many years ago, it eventually resolved itself. This time, it lasted for a few weeks, but it has not popped up in at least ten days or so. So I think my problem has resolved itself again. I will do the same thing the next time it happens.

1 through 3 did not do anything. The box to Always prompt was already not checked. Pop up continued. The 4th solution, creating a new profile, making it the default and entering the credentials and restarting stopped the pop up.

Shouldn't I go back and remove the obsolete profile?

    Thanks
