How do I block all emails ending with @jean-patrique.co.uk. So annoying - keep receiving them every 10 minutes if not often. In 2 days - 300 emails. Did try to make a email rule, but doesnt help. Any ideas?

EDIT: 16/12/2023 - a bug with the blocked and safe senders and domains lists was preventing the procedure below from working between 12th and 16th December 2023. This has now been fixed.

There is an easier solution:

  1. Log into Outlook in either the web browser or the windows Outlook app;
  2. Click on the 'cog' symbol towards the top right;
  3. Click on "Email";
  4. Click on "Junk email";
  5. Under "Blocked senders and domains" click "+Add";
  6. Type "jean-patrique.co.uk";
  7. Press 'Enter';
  8. Click "Save" at the bottom of the list.

You can check it has saved the domain by starting to type it into the search bar on the right and it should appear even before you have typed it out in full.

This way it does not matter what combination of characters that the scumbag puts in front of the '@', the spam will get caught by this domain. Even better, unlike rules, which only apply to the inbox, this applies equally to junk email, which is where I presume this spam is going, and the result is to block it completely so you won't see it at all - not even in deleted or recoverable items. This is a positive change from previously, where I believe it just ensured that blocked senders and domains went into the junk folder.

This particular gambling-obsessed scumbag changes their domain every so often - they were ******@emails.fenwick.co.uk then ******@xixvodka.com then @monsoon.co.uk then @e.newscientist.com, so you will probably need to enter another domain if the deluge resumes under another guise.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

TE

    The spammer might have switched sender addresses:

    Image

    This one is easier to block because there is no wildcard element, so right-clicking on the email > Block > Block sender will add it to the list.

    IP: 80.96.44.243

    ISP contact: abuse-virtono[at]rnc.ro

    most likely you have domain/email on the list already.. this is why you can not save the same one more time

    Good point - try typing the domain in the search bar to check this.

    Otherwise, I have seen evidence that it was working for me and not for other people, but then it eventually started working for them and they didn't update their browser or device. They seemed to think that the rollout of the fix was being staggered, so some people would get it before others.

    Another thing you could try is to right-click on a genuine email > Block > Never block sender and see if this adds them to the safe senders list. This wasn't working for me - I was in conversation with the Microsoft Outlook X account, but because they had changed to X, Outlook was junking their response notification emails. When I tried to add them as a safe sender through the above process, it wouldn't add them and the response notification emails continued to go into junk until suddenly one came into my inbox and it was at that point that everything was working again. It could be a coincidence, but maybe trying to add someone to safe senders through that route eventually causes the issue to resolve itself. It is worth a try anyway.

    Cheers,

    It's still not working for me. Now when I go to add the domain and press 'Enter', the 'Save' button doesn't even appear.

    I have received 374 emails from @jean-patrique.co.uk all relating to online gaming and gambling websites. I have followed the advice given and blocked the domain. I complained to the company who deny they have been sending them. Clearly their email account has been hacked, cloned, spoofed, or compromised. I am also receiving spam/junk emails from a lot of US based websites, e.g. TEMU, scartinx.com, etc. which I am also blocking.
