Contacts Missing From "New" Outlook After Upgrade From Windows Mail

My contacts are gone. I upgraded to the "new" outlook a couple months ago and now realize I have no contacts. I tried looking for a CVS file but I found none. I tried reverting back to Outlook 2019 but still no contacts. Please note, I upgraded from Windows Mail. I never used Outlook 2019.

Lost all mine too, not happy. My computer guy tranferred everything professionally but the upgrade did not arrive with my contacts. Not happy!

Thanks but I am unwilling to pay for something that has been free for many years.

Me neither, charging someone for a basic requirement is a scam and a rip off. Microsoft desperate to recoup money wasted on designing unwanted applications. I swapped to Firefox a long time ago and it is free, never changes or disrupts usage. I want absolutely nothing to do with Microsoft or Google for that matter on my system excepting the Windows operating system.

    "Brave" for browsing.

"DuckDuck Go" for the search engine.

    " Firefox" for e-mails.

"Apache open Office" for any word processing or data base needs.

Nothing from the Microsoft scamming company.

All free, they don't track or store private information. Don't insist that data is saved to any other location other than your PC.

Most importantly, don't force update with unwanted application gimmicks.

I have no idea what most of that was instructing me to do. I just downloaded outlook and the rest as packaged in 365.

Although this is not a fix, it's a way to at least not lose your contacts completely. This would work to backup your contacts IF you can search for a contact and it appears (only to disappear later.)

In the "People"page and "All contacts" is selected, click "Manage contacts" at the top right of the window. Click the "Export contacts" drop-down. Then click the Export button. That will create a CSV file, and in that file you'll see all your contacts! They're probably not usable in that form, but at least it preserves the data.

    Good luck,

    Jerry Abrams
