My desktop outlook app will not open

I have Windows 11, Office 365 and use the Outlook desktop app for my email. The app has stopped working. When I click to open the little circle starts spinning for about 10 seconds then nothing happens

    I need assistance with opening outlook on my pc though it does open correctly on my phone.

    suddenly my outlook app will not open on my pc though it does on my cell phone. i tried installing the newer version as suggested on your cited but it is still not opening.

    Hi Kelli, I am not a Microsoft expert. I'm just a regular user. I have had the same problem opening Mail directly. But I have been able to work around the issue on my computer as follows:

    1. Right-click on the Outlook icon.
    2. Click on "Open Calendar". Sometimes it takes a short while to open the calendar.
    3. When the Outlook Calendar comes up, then click on the "Mail" button at the top left corner of the app window. Magically, Outlook Mail opens up.
    4. I tend to leave the Outlook window open, so I don't need to go through this cumbersome workaround every time I want to check my email.
