I am a support consultant for many customers. Getting a bunch of calls this morning (03/21/2024) about Legacy Mac version 16.8x and above not syncing.
If they switch to New Outlook, no issues. Online is also working.
Why would Legacy stop working today for some? Running Mac OS X 13.x and 14.x with same issue.
Please advise.

Thanks for that update. Except that, of course, people are using Outlook Legacy for other reasons. For example, to transfer mail to other services.
So yes, we can use OWA, but that only helps in some way.
Just want to add my voice to the chorus pleading with you to fix this Legacy Outlook problem ASAP. It's a huge productivity problem at the office today.
Also - the fact so many of us are desperate to escape "New Outlook" to get back to Legacy should show you the larger problem. The new one just isn't well-designed or functional for many of us who are satisfied Legacy Outlook customers. Please go back to the drawing board and just iterate off Legacy Outlook.
In case you weren't aware of this, you can still use Outlook on the web at portal.office.com and have no issue sending/receiving emails...
This is ridiculous. It started about 2am European Time, and is still ongoing, after 16 hours.
Microsoft is apparently unable to fix a simple problem and disregards people who don't want their mails being routed through Microsofts servers
This is insanity. I am going to have a nervous breakdown if something isn't done about this. It is CRIPPLING me at my office. My boss and everyone else is freaking out and I have to sit here and do nothing. I rolled back to a version of office from last year and still the issue persists.
