Disable auto-delete of accepted meeting invites in the *new" Outlook?

Hi Product Development Team,

Please don't make the auto-delete the default. Make auto-delete the option that users enable in their settings.

Setting auto-delete from email after replying as a system-wide default makes using Outlook calendar invitations much less effective unless the person you're inviting is exclusively using Microsoft platforms. Most people--I'm thinking of Gen Z college students here--use a combo of platforms (gmail, outlook, Trello, etc), and are not using their Outlook calendar as their main and only scheduling platform. I love Outlook, but also want people to see (and remember) upcoming events.

It is bewildering to me that such a bizarre action as deleting an invite to a meeting I ACCEPTED is a feature and not a bug. It shouldn't take a grass roots movement of user complaints for Microsoft to realize that having this as a default behavior in the first place is nonsensical and annoying, and removing the option to stop it from happening, like older versions of Outlook provided, is even worse than bewildering, bordering on infuriating.

C'mon, Microsoft. This was opened in June 2023. The fix for this has gotta be pretty darn small. But that's not even the point. People are paying for your software and yet you don't provide high quality support when they ask for a feature YOU ALREADY HAVE. Please don't ship **** that doesn't work 100% and then force everyone to use it. (Resisting the temptation to say that means you can't ship windows ever again, oh wait, I succumbed).

This is the second big problem I'm facing with outlook when handling events. I'm responding to an event, not deleting an E-Mail. Often, the event is just a part of the mail, while other, important information is placed within the mail. The fact that the mail closes and is moved to the deleted items, when accepting an event is confusing at best, but I'd argue it's just plain wrong, as it is neither an action implied by the button, nor intended by me anyway.

The thinking process here is probably the same as with the deletion of declined events.

It is absolutely possible to streamline such actions without making your application an unintuitive mess. Maybe, just maybe, use a dropdown menu, where you can select "accept & delete mail" or "decline and delete" as options beyond the standard accept and decline. Give us an option to use whichever option we prefer. But don't do some implicit magic that may or may not be clear to the user. Which is probably only found out, when googling for the problem, just to find that there's no solution to it and a lot of people have the same problem ...

Actually 'Disable auto-delete of accepted meeting invites' is a very good feature in older outlook. This should continue in new versions also.

I am also facing the same problem that I could not find any meeting requests in my inbox, which i hve accepted.

Many a times sender is sending any attachement for discussions, minutes of meeting for earlier meetings, are available in meeting request.

So requesting Micosoft to work on this and this feature should be included in new outlook versions.
