Spam filter in hotmail not working.

Everyday I am getting the same couple of pieces of spam email in my hotmail inbox, spam that usually goes to my spam/junk mail box. While most of the spam mail still goes to right box, these couple get through to my inbox. Several months ago all my spam went to my inbox for 4-5 days, maybe 3-350 spam mails a day in my inbox. At the time I noticed many others complaining of the same problem. Microsoft (or someone) was able to stop it last time. I hope someone can stop it this time before all my spam ends up in my inbox. I should add that I use an iPad, not a laptop or computer.

Wow! I have been with Hotmail since the 90's. This is horrible. I had to remove the email account from my phone because my phone keeps dinging all day with spam getting into my Hotmail account. Microsoft, GOOGLE KNOWS HOW TO PREVENT SPAM GOING TO THE INBOX!! CONTACT THEM AND ASK FOR ASSISTANCE!

cmon microsoft....the hotmail spam filters are really terrible. gmail automatically filters spam. i know microsoft can easily afford to spend money implementing auto filtering junk emails. the cost to do so wouldnt be very much in the long run. and why were auto filters switched off for no reason at all

I have been having 100+ issues per day AND I HAVE FILED COMPLAINT after complaint on this issue. I have multiple Rules added but THEY DONT WORK. Therefor that is a USELESS suggestion. Please stop suggesting it to us all AND FIX THE SERVER PROBLEMS. Every time a new rule is created they just change the address to void it. I’m getting ones for Male elongation, McAfee Antivirus, iCloud, Congratulations on winning various things the list goes ON. This is bloody ridiculous & needs to be fixed IMMEDIATELY

Please have a look at my post in this thread https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/how-do-i-stop-thousands-of-spam-emails-from-going/144816b1-0923-4556-b42d-bfa1e8062384?page=2 (last one on the page).

It involves creating three simple rules that are clarified by screenshots.

I work at Microsoft and until now, even I haven't been able to get an answer as to why there's so much spam coming into Outlook.com/Hotmail.com. Something is broken but I just don't have the connections internally to speak to the right people to find out what (and I'm in the org unit that does support).

However - I setup what Sendak932 has posted, creating the 3 rules with the screen shots on that link provided. And I can 100% confirm this has reduced the spam considerably. In fact, since this morning (about 6hrs ago) since I enabled these rules - not 1 single spam has come through to my inbox, but there are 63 now in junk mail.

    Sendak932 - I thank you!
