Microsoft Outlook Storage Message - reducing from 15GB to 5GB

Hi, starting today a pink bar at the top of my outlook page stating 'From February 1st, you'll need more storage to send or receive emails.' then provides 2 links to 'Manage Storage' & 'Get More Storage'. There is a second window bottom left hand side stating in red font 'Microsoft Storage' '14.6GB used of 5GB (292%)' 'Get More Storage'. What is going on? I've had this account for 10 + years.

    I am getting the very same message with the exact number as mentioned in your account , "6.7GB, I am 134% over capacity (5GB)". yet when I select manage account, I see that I am only using 131mb out of 5GB...an under this, there is a message saying that I have 15GB of email storage...this is a generic message they are sending to everyone, regardless if you are over the limit or not, it is very deceiving to say the least

    I have a similar question My information says I need more storage." I have almost 5 GB of I cloud storage and about 7.5 in my free email. But the Microsoft storate is at 5.2.GB. In one breath it says it won't affect my free email account but the pink message says I need more storage. Conflicting messages which one do I believe?

    Same here -- if they are going to count email attachments toward OneDrive storage, PLEASE allow us to download the attachments and delete them off the original email, saving the rest of the email. I have many emails with attachments that I don't want to delete but can just delete the attachments. This became an overnight nightmare with my OneDrive storage suddenly exceeding the limit by nearly double the allowed amount. It's suddenly forced me to spend many hours over many days weeding through 10 years of thousands of emails with attachments to determine which can be downloaded and deleted & which I need to keep. So far only managed to get rid of 0.5 GB of attachments of the 4 GB that needs to be deleted, with no end in sight for the time this will take. NO WARNING by Microsoft is unconscionable. :(
