Outlook Task List / Todo list is no where to be found in the NEW Outlook Desktop.

OKAY, So I was offered to try out the new outlook desktop today and to be honest I'm in love with the new look.

In addition to being able to now PIN important emails to the top, it also now seems to integrate with Gmail to import and save all of your contacts !!, Another feature that has been missing from outlook forever !!

Anyways, Microsoft and all their wisdom seems to remove functionality or break stuff whenever they think they're fixing and it appears now that the tasks / todo list is nowhere to be found...

MS pointed me to support article that specifically says that they do still have tasks / to-do and that it has been relocated to (MY DAY) Top right hand corner, But there is no tab that says Todo as stated in their support article... see my attached screen shot..

according to the Microsoft article there should be a tab right next to the calendar tab --

I only use Gmail accounts. I do not use my Microsoft account as my default email provider ... So I'm concerned that the reason why the to-do list isn't showing up for me is because perhaps Gmail doesn't support this functionality (and or) the new outlook can't integrate with Gmail properly...

Please help.

Welcome to our forum!

Unfortunately, the Task feature in New Outlook for Windows is very different from the Legacy Outlook. I'm afraid you need to turn off New Outlook button to switch back to Legacy Outlook to meet your current needs.

To get this feature more quickly, I have found a feedback on the website dedicated to collecting feedback and you could vote for it. Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. You can also make suggestions on that website and hope Microsoft will notice this in the future.

Yes, this is what I was afraid of ....
I'm pretty sure that when I posted the original question I had asked if this was the problem ....??

Because this NEW Outlook is more of a cloud app than an application, it doesn't fully support Gmail yet...
In order to get the full functionality, Such as the (task list) and (reminders) you have to be using a Microsoft email... Live.com / outlook.com

That suck ....

I have had the same issue but discovered that if you change your primary male box to your oulook or microsoft mail box that you are given in office 365 your settings will be updated and the icon for todo then appears. My primary mail was set to my gmail account. When I changed it to my outlook account the settings were changed and the todo icon reappeared. I hope this helps.

Another thing that is missing from the NEW outlook is the Dictation button .... it's vanished and there's no options to turn it back on..🤦
