Cannot enter recipient email addresses in Outlook on Mac. Any help?

Since today, when I try to compose an email it will let me type in both the subject and body fields (as normal) but not in the 'To' field to enter the recipient's email address.

I click on the 'To' bit and nothing happens. I hover the cursor over it and try to type - nothing happens. I'm blocked out from entering any email addresses.

It means I cannot send any new emails from my account via my desktop. Seems to be just fine from my phone.

It's bizarre and frustrating and I can't find anything about it online.

Desktop is an older iMac using Safari. Never had a problem before.

I have the exact problem as described. Impossible to enter recipient in To or CC fields

It is obvious that Microsoft changed something recently (eg in May 2023) which makes it not work anymore on Safari. I guess it is working on Explorer, but I do not want to install explorer on my Mac. It is a bug

    The workarounds I found :

    • Open the mail in separate window (But the format is weird)
    • Install Outlook app (But I do not like the user interface, I prefer the web-based version)

    Dear Mostafa

Tried your solutions and unfortunately they do not work.

Same as other Mac users. Outlook 365 was working fine for us all up until a few days ago, and now we cannot input anything into the "Recipients" box.

Would help if you could replicate the problem at Microsoft, as the users on this thread have not changed anything on their systems ie same MacBook Pro, same version of Safari, same OS.

So, it used to work fine until a few days ago and now it doesn't!

    Hi there Microsoft

Yes, I'm having the same problem as the other users!

Using Safari with an older MacBook Pro.

This is a recent problem and only started a few days ago. Like the other users who have written about this, I have never had a problem in the past with THIS laptop, THIS version of Safari and THISMac OS.

In other words, our computers, apps and OS have not changed.

So logically the issue MUST be on the MICROSOFT end.

Please kindly fix this ASAP 🌞

    Alan
