New company took over and outlook now having issues

I was with Centurylink. They forced me to have Brightspeed. I was assured nothing would be affected. They were wrong. I have never used webmail and have always had my webmail forwarded to my Outlook that I had bought. Since Brightspeed has taken over I am having issues. My Outlook 2021 from Microsoft keeps synchronizing and I my emails either won't go out or take forever to come in or go out and it keeps saying synchronizing folders and I have no clue what that means and why today it started doing that. Brightspeed is no help. Centurylink helped me with the POP info to put in and swore there would be no issues but no longer will talk to me since they said I am a Brightspeed customer and I can't talk to anyone with Microsoft. I don't know why this suddenly started today and Brightspeed had no answers and basically just said good luck. I have work emails that I forward to my outlook so I can print to do my teleworking. It's been over 3 hours and I don't even know why synchronizing is or why it's doing this. HELP. I need it to stop doing that and for my emails to come and go quickly like they were doing yesterday. Any ideas or help anyone can give me.

Sorry to hear that your problems remain. I've tried to verify that no changes that I have made have had an effect on the problem resolution. I'm fairly sure that is the case. I did note that you said you filed a trouble report with Centurylink. I had filed a trouble report with Brightspeed. It's possible that is the difference. It appears to me that Brightspeed is out-sourcing the email service to Centurylink, but the contract prohibits Centurylink from responding to requests from Brightspeed customers. I tried a "Chat" session with Brightspeed support, but the agent asked me "What is IMAP?", and said he couldn't help and I should contact IMAP!!!. That told me the chat was useless, so I filed the trouble report. The response I got from the trouble report was a request to verify my login & password using a browser at webmail.centurylink.net. I did that and reported it back to them, but got no response. Then 2 days later, my problems were resolved for all accounts that I was having problems with, not just the one for which I submitted the request. It may be that the "fix" was made only in my local Brightspeed office. I suggest that you file a trouble report with Brightspeed and not Centurylink. Good luck!

No my issues with Brightspeed have not been resolved. I have tried everything to get it back the way it was before this mess happened. All I'm doing is using Centurytel website to get my e-mail; otherwise, this whole Outlook not working is UNACCEPTABLE!!

I am happy to hear that your issues were resolved. Mine have not. My emails are stuck in the webmail and will not come into my Outlook...they did once this morning and when I tested and then not again. I have contacted Centurylink by doing a ticket/report...not heard a thing back. I have written on their fb wall and told them they have not been truthful saying the issues have been resolved. I wish I knew how many out there are still having issues like I am. I even sent screenshot in the report I sent. They did screw things up and now don't want to answer back those of us who are having issues. And since the 24 OCT update, if I close out my Outlook, in order to get back into it, I have to restart my computer. It's still a mess for me but I am glad to hear someone got them to fix their stuff. I'm so frustrated by it and that's an understatement.

Brightspeed and/or Centurylink really screwed things up; however, as of Sunday morning Oct 30th, things cleared up for me. I don't use Outlook, but my experience with Thunderbird and IOS was similar to yours.

Give it another try now and see if the sync issues and email delivery are now fixed.

Brightspeed took over 20 states that I guess Centurylink made the decision about. However, my centurylink email has remained the same. Centurylink did an email upgrade on 24 OCT and since 25 OCT my Outlook is messed up. Centurylink has a little note out there on the centurylink.net site saying they know there are some issues and they should be resolved in 72 hours. It's now been 7 days for me. If you did not change to Brightspeed, it could still effect you because the upgrade was Centurylink's webmail which then messed so many accounts to include anyone with Outlook. However, even their webmail for me is not receiving some emails. Had my nephew respond to one in which he did receive from my Outlook..took a couple of hours for him to get it...but when he responded...I never received the response in either my Centurylink Webmail or my Outlook. It's a big mess and it doesn't look like they know how to fix it. My Outlook just keeps synchronizing over and over and over.
