New company took over and outlook now having issues

I was with Centurylink. They forced me to have Brightspeed. I was assured nothing would be affected. They were wrong. I have never used webmail and have always had my webmail forwarded to my Outlook that I had bought. Since Brightspeed has taken over I am having issues. My Outlook 2021 from Microsoft keeps synchronizing and I my emails either won't go out or take forever to come in or go out and it keeps saying synchronizing folders and I have no clue what that means and why today it started doing that. Brightspeed is no help. Centurylink helped me with the POP info to put in and swore there would be no issues but no longer will talk to me since they said I am a Brightspeed customer and I can't talk to anyone with Microsoft. I don't know why this suddenly started today and Brightspeed had no answers and basically just said good luck. I have work emails that I forward to my outlook so I can print to do my teleworking. It's been over 3 hours and I don't even know why synchronizing is or why it's doing this. HELP. I need it to stop doing that and for my emails to come and go quickly like they were doing yesterday. Any ideas or help anyone can give me.

I just did the modem and it made no difference. :( I did notice out on the webmail and checking the IMAP settings, Centurylink changed the information yesterday. I have a snippet from the day before and what they now show which makes me wonder why they changed it. The woman who talked to me and did a remote to just see my computer thought it looked weird and was going to talk to someone. I will try to show what the webmail showed first and what it shows now.

The modem will restart itself, just plug it in. This is a normal occurrence whenever you lose power at your house.

I meant to say I emailed to my work and my hotmail and they came into those accounts but when I replied..the responses have yet to show up not only in Outlook but even out on webmail.

I admit I have no idea or understand what you just wrote but I haven't rebooted the modem yet as my son had his gaming system updating some game so I will get out of everything...unplug and wait the 20 seconds and hope it works. Kind of scared but if it will help my email do what it needs, I will do it. So I will unplug from the surge protector for the 30 seconds and plug back up. Will it turn back on by itself or is there a button I need to push. I am sorry if I sound so dumb but I truly am not a computer person. Thank you for guiding me through this. I sent 2 emails to myself...one from my hot and one from work email and neither has come in yet BUT the won I sent TO my work email did make it to my work email. I don't get it.
