New Outlook for Mac does not show emails older than 30 days

Hello,

I needed to find an email that I keen the date that was send to me. So I start scrolling down to my Inbox. To my surprise, I could not scroll further than 30 days.

What's up with that? Only 30 days of ?

Is there a way for the New Outlook to increase that limit of showing only 30 days of emails?

Unfortunately searching in Outlook (either new or old look), seems to be getting worse and worse. Several people in my company have complained that search does not return all emails that should appear and it happened to me several times. So it is not that I can rely on search anymore.

If such simple things cannot be available, I could not imagine if Outlook for Mac will ever get feature parity with the Windows version.

    So frustrating that this is still a problem. I have to continue using "Legacy Outlook" so I can find old emails.

    I do an "All Mailboxes" search in New Outlook and search for a single word, and it returns a list of results, going back a maximum of 30 days. I run the same command in "Legacy Outlook" and I get significantly more results, all of which are valid. Therefore I can't rely on the "New Outlook" search results.

    If I try and search "Current Mailbox" on an IMAP mailbox, it just fails to search at all, showing the following:

    This is completely useless to me. "Legacy Outlook" returns hundreds of pertinent emails, going back several years, and the results are returned immediately.

    At this point since Microsoft keep adding new features to this and not addressing this problem I can only assume they don't expect Outlook to be used in a professional capacity, where one might want to recall emails from several months ago that have certain keywords in.

    Give us the ability to download all of our emails if we want!

    Outlook for MAC is a piece of junk. I downloaded and I cant get any of my historical Gmails - which I need. I wanted outlook so i can create folders. I am not giving up my gmail account I have had for years and years. thank you for reminding me why I hate microsoft. I am going back to using the Apple Mail interface or maybe just plain old Gmail. Its easier. Who has time for this???

    Yes, It's true. Only 30 days email are downloaded and the support team said that "It's by design". Is MS joking!

    I must be lucky - sort of!

    I have several folders displaying all of its emails and some are over 3 years old.

    I have one folder containing emails upto 1 year old but an additional email 2 years old isn't displayed.

    I have one folder which I know contains 38 emails but only 22 emails are displayed and they are over 2 years old.

    Every so often the Inbox displays emails with no preview, just the header, and the body will not download unless it is moved to another folder or deleted!

    Edit 10/9/22: This 'NEW' version for Macs is now three years old and still doesn't function properly. Microsoft don't seem to care so I am reverting to the Legacy version for now and when that ceases I shall move to a different email client provider and cancel my subscription.
