It seems to be IMPOSSIBLE to generate an APP PASSWORD in order to set up Yahoo Mail in Outlook. I have found all the instructions online but I do NOT find the said options in my Yahoo email account or in My Microsoft account?
I cannot find any clickable command for "generate app password"...i FIND EVERY OTHER OPTION. But Not app password!!
ANy help much appreciated. I seem to have lost my bellsouth email in my outlook!! what a nightmare!

Even i am trying to configure my personal yahoo mail in outlook2010, but facing the same issue.
Thanks to this and Choices Books, I got there in the end, what worked for me was to logon to my yahoo account settings on Safari on my phone and that allowed me to generate an app password whereas I couldn’t get it to happen on Chrome on my PC at all. Strange. I have now got yahoo set back up on my Outlook.
Weirdly enough I did before in my iPhone and it was a no go. Relly frustrating. Nobody seems to know the real solution.

Okay, it worked on your Mac. I tried it on Mac too mine did not work. Guess we never know the real issue.
It’s strange that I was able to log on two my Mac Mini and Mac Pro using Outlook without a special password. For my Windows machine it does require a special password. Really confused here. Perhaps it’s some sort of royalty thing Yahoo wants from Microsoft.
