Hi,
I manage 3 mailboxes at work and made the mistake of switching to the new Outlook a bit early [my toggle to switch back is gone?] and it's totally messed up my workflow. I was able to find my shared mailboxes after several back and forth with my IT department. Now I need to add the inboxes of those shared mailboxes to my "Favorites" list so I don't have to scroll down constantly to work those accounts.
When I right click on the shared inbox there is no option to "Show in favorites" and I get the circle crossed out when I try to drag them into favorites. Also, in the Favorites folder when I click "Add to Favorites" it brings up something wonky, and mailbox folders don't appear to be an option.
Can anyone tell me how show these shared account folders in my favorites?

Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management

That is also how it works in the Classic Outlook. You can add Shared Mailboxes as if they are a full mailbox, without having a login/password of that mailbox. You just enter the user's login/password. As long as that user has rights to that mailbox, it works.
Ah, no, I did not intepret that bit, but perhaps you are correct.
My assumption wasthat you jus need the credentials of a licenced user with access to the mailbox.
For some applications, you authenticate using the username / email as "licenseduser@example.com/sharedmailbox@example.com" and then use the password for the licenced user.
This is how I expect it to work.
That is pretty much how I interpret it - and it's not workable if the process of adding each of those accounts requires entering a username and password for that shared mailbox. We have a number of these mailboxes attached to actual accounts which are disabled and cannot be logged into directly - and even if they could it wouldn't work due to the MFA requirement when logging into all accounts.
If this is really how they've implemented it, it's yet another case of very bad design which makes the intended aim unworkable!

I actually inteprut this completely different, and you probablky won't like my interpretation, if it is correct, haha, as I don't particularly.
The way I understand that this will work, is to be able to utilise all features of the New Outlook app, for example the, what you would think is, simple action of pinning to favourites, then you will need to add each Shared Mailbox "as an account".
My thoughts are that, once you do this, it will appear as if it was a full licencesd mailbox.
At present, we simply add a licenced mailbox, and all Shared Mailboxes are available, without the need to do anything, which is very convenient when you have access to many Shared Mailboxes.
However, going forward, let's say I have access to 20 Shared Mailboxes. If I wanted to pin the Inbox of all of these to my favourites, then I intepret this as me having to add each of these 20 Shared Mailboxes manually, thus giving me the capability to pin to favourites 🙈.
I could be wrong, but this is how I believe they are implementing this.
Signing into the shared mailbox with credentials specific to that account / mailbox - if that's what is meant. It isn't well worded, but if it simply meant that credentials are needed in order to sign into the primary account before seeing the shared mailbox, that doesn't need stating as it's obvious.
