"New" Outlook: Add Shared Mailbox to Favorites

Hi,

I manage 3 mailboxes at work and made the mistake of switching to the new Outlook a bit early [my toggle to switch back is gone?] and it's totally messed up my workflow. I was able to find my shared mailboxes after several back and forth with my IT department. Now I need to add the inboxes of those shared mailboxes to my "Favorites" list so I don't have to scroll down constantly to work those accounts.

When I right click on the shared inbox there is no option to "Show in favorites" and I get the circle crossed out when I try to drag them into favorites. Also, in the Favorites folder when I click "Add to Favorites" it brings up something wonky, and mailbox folders don't appear to be an option.

Can anyone tell me how show these shared account folders in my favorites?

Thanks

CM

I don't even understand how such a bad application is released under the office365 package for businesses. This application only has one thing better than the older one which is looking better. Functionality wise, it's like it was developed by an entry level software developer who has absolutely no idea about the real world work flow and what options shoud be available for users to do their daily jobs.

To be honest, it's probably a bad idea to blame the guy who developed. Surely there a senior member that looks at the product and approves it. Whoever approved this needs to be fired and maybe a job at mac donnalds its more suitable.

Absolute **** to put it mildly

Problem is that this adds all e-mails and not only the inbox folder.

But isn't this a totally different item on the roadmap? The one for having a Shared Mailbox in your favorites is https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=388913, which is still on October and doesn't talk about adding them as Accounts.

It has been pushed to January 2025, now 🤦🏽‍♂️🙈

If it helps any others who do not have too many Shared Mailboxes to manage, for now, I have started having multiple instances of [New] Outlook open, so that I can easily check on the Shared Mailboxes I monitor.

For those unsure, you can open multiple instances by middle button clicking on Outlook on the taskbar.

hopefully, this helps some others 'til they sort their lives out.

    Shared Mailboxes can be added as Accounts in the new Outlook for Windows. The Shared Mailbox will appear at the Account Level in the Folder list. Access to the Shared Mailbox requires the user's credentials and associated permissions. #newoutlookforwindows<br><ul style=""><li style=""><p data-prewrap="true"><span style="">Feature ID: </span>375635</p></li><li style=""><p data-prewrap="true"><span style="">Added to roadmap: </span>1/5/2024</p></li><li style=""><p data-prewrap="true"><span style="">Last modified: </span>8/6/2024</p></li><li style=""><p data-prewrap="true"><span style="">Product(s): </span>Outlook</p></li><li style=""><p data-prewrap="true"><span style="">Cloud instance(s): </span>Worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant)</p></li><li style=""><p data-prewrap="true"><span style="">Platform(s): </span>Desktop</p></li><li style=""><p data-prewrap="true"><span style="">Release phase(s): </span>General Availability</p></li></ul> Rollout Start: January 2025

WOW more than 1 year and it is still not fixed. Why can't Microsoft just design "new" apps better?!?! Every single day I have to expand the shared mailbox as I can't even see the Inbox and if there is a new email. That's another issue but if we could add folders under shared mailboxes to our favourites it wouldn't be as much of an issue.
