Hello, I would like to report that calendar invites received from Google Email users don't honor Outlook's default notification setting. Please see below Microsoft Community threads for details. I think this is a severe issue because several people in these threads have reported missed important business meetings due to this bug.

Can confirm that I have the exact same issues when invites are sent via Google servers (personal Gmail or corporate Gsuite / Google Workspace accounts).

This should be a high priority fix, given Outlook users are inevitably going to miss important meetings eventually.

I think I might have confused you but I'll try to explain myself better.

The reminders I'm not getting are from External meeting invites coming from Google Calendar, and when I receive these invites I accept them but I see that they are not automatically having the reminder. So, adding automatically a reminder when receiving and accepting an external invite from a google account would really help to avoid missing any more meetings because those external invites dont have a reminder.

I know I could go to each of those invites and do this manually but that will take some time, so, my question is if it's possible to have a rule or something so every time I receive an external invite (from Google calendar) and accept it, a reminder gets automatically set.

This is not a recent issue or gap I'm experiencing after an update, it has been like this all the time with Google Calendar invites.

Note: I'm using a Microsoft account all the time and the Outlook desktop app to receive those Google meeting invites.

To any/all MSFT personnel on here: this is not a BUG, but a VERY IMPORTANT FEATURE REQUEST. Please please please prioritize this, as it will provide a lot of real value for a lot of people who use Outlook.

The "default reminder" feature today only applies to invitations that you create yourself. It doesn't apply to invitations created by other people. Instead, those invitations will come with whatever notification, or none, that they set. You can override it yourself, but that has to be done manually, each and every time.

And sometimes we forget, and then we're late to / miss meetings. That's a real problem. And one that you can address with a pretty darn simple feature.

[ X ] Always set a reminder on incoming meeting invitations: [ 15 minutes ]

^^ A single check box, with a selection for the timing of the reminder. It should be a backend/account setting (not a local/client setting). If checked, then any invitation that comes in from another sender (regardless of whether they're in my organization or external) without a reminder set gets a reminder added as directed.

Seems pretty simple logic, but hugely valuable.
