My Outlook inbox is suddenly getting a ton of spam and I don't know how to stop it

Last week, my personal Outlook email started getting ~50 spam emails per day. I barely ever use this email address, so I am not sure how or why this began to happen. How can I stop all of this spam from getting to my inbox?

I have been flagging all of the emails as spam, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the influx of emails I am getting.

More than that Adam, see below.

What I didn't mention is that over the course of the last year or so (might be longer than a year, maybe two years), I tried little experiments. First, when they started, I was reporting every single one and blocking them. This seemed to INCREASE the amount of spam/phishing emails.

Then I tried just deleting the spam/phishing emails and guess what? The amount of spam/phishing emails reduced by well over half. I have done this experiment several times as all experiments should be, and the same outcome every time.... REPORT OR BLOCK AND YOU GET MORE SPAM/PHISHING EMAILS, JUST DELETE AND YOU GET LESS.

Now, I am a thorough believer in testing theories so I couldn't just rely on one email address to confirm the outcome. As mentioned, I have Microsoft family so my Dad has it along with my Mother and Brother. My Mother and Brother are not technology minded so I monitor their emails from my desktop. Yes, I know it seems weird but I have their passwords and yes they know I dip into their emails. Now, I noticed they were recieving spam/phishing emails, not a lot, maybe two or three a day, so I ran the experiment on two different email address and the same outcome. By reporting or blocking the spam/phishing emails they had a massive increase. IF I JUST DELETE THE SPAM/PHISHING EMAILS, THEY GOT FAR FEWER. IF I REPORTED AND/OR BLOCKED THE SPAM/PHISHING EMAILS, THEY HAD A MASSIVE INCREASE. This clearly shows that something is very wrong with Microsoft.

It would seam Microsoft have no desire or intention to improve which is a shame. Up to 50 spam a day and I continually block and apply rules which is also a waste of time. I will soon be on the long list of users moving away after many many years!

I have had office 365 family for years and that doesn't stop the vast amount coming into my inbox. It is a real issue even though I have "advanced protection".... Nothing works, they just keep dropping into my inbox 🤨 This issue started about a year ago, never had spam/phishing emails before, well, the occasional one but I get around 40-50 per day now! You can highlight all then block all but as mentioned in this thread, they have thousands of disposable addresses... Microsoft really needs to up their game and sort this as it clearly isn't a one-off issue.
