Recently my outlook business account has started tagging emails as "External" with a massive grey box that takes up a third of the available space it the preview pane. It was bad enough in the subject lines but this is making my inbox unusable.
Whoever designed it obviously doesn't use email.
Is there a way to disable the External Tagging?

The external tag sucks!!!!!!!!!!! This should be a choice not something that is forced on people!

you might have seen this already, I have done this and it works.
As the label is only applied to the "From" column and not to the actual Sender value, you can get around this by simply defining your own column to replace the default.
Right click the header of your inbox and open the View Settings. Go to Columns, New Column, set Type to Formula and then enter [From]. You can also add this or other fields from the full editor. (It also supports functions so if the label is every applied to the field itself in a future update there might still be ways to remove it.)
And why is it in front? I can't even read where my emails are from anymore easily. Garbage.
