Cannot manually sort folders with new Outlook

Hi All

I'm loving the new Outlook, however I'm having real difficulty manually sorting my email folders.

Clicking & dragging the folder, only allows me to drop the folder INTO another folder, but doesn't allow me to drop it in between other folders (meaning I cannot re-arrange / sort the folders manually).

Right clicking the folder and clicking "Move", again only allows me to move the folder INTO another folder. There is no "move up or down" option unfortunately.

It is currently sorting my folders in alphabetical order, but I wish to change this. I have been through all the settings and cannot find anywhere I can manually sort my email folders.

Can anyone assist?

Thank you

Thomas

If you're desperate to make it work for the time being, I found that modifying the name of the folder to include a number at the beginning of the name seems to sort it in numerical order. If it doesn't work initially, I found that moving the folder you just renamed into another folder and then moving it back to the main area "resets" it and allows it to sort by the number you just added.

Microsoft, please fix this! I'm excited to work with the new outlook, but I need to be able to control my folders.

Thank you for the proper work around

Please let it be October, I have so many folders that need to be organized manually. I hate them being scattered and subfolders and favorites don't fix the problem.

Thank you, I have submitted the feedback as you suggested.

I am already using the "Favourites" sub-menu, however this does not provide me with a solution. I have over 50 folders, so using favourites is not a practical solution. I need to be able to manually organize my folders outside of favourites (as you can do so in classic outlook).

Hope you will add this feature to the new Outlook soon, as it is a very basic and fundamental requirement for many users I would imagine.

    Thanks again for your response.

    Kind Regards

    Thomas

Total BS. Its more important that they force you to use 2 step authentication now and try to get you to pay $3.99 a WEEK for some stupid program that you will only use with their email. Now I can't get into my microsoft account because it is stuck in a loop sending my app a code that I keep putting in and then it asks again. I HATE MICROSOFT.

That doesn't work Kelsey. I use numbers; YYYYMMDD date stamp prefixes. It ignores them. Regards, Martin
