Cannot manually sort folders with new Outlook

Hi All

I'm loving the new Outlook, however I'm having real difficulty manually sorting my email folders.

Clicking & dragging the folder, only allows me to drop the folder INTO another folder, but doesn't allow me to drop it in between other folders (meaning I cannot re-arrange / sort the folders manually).

Right clicking the folder and clicking "Move", again only allows me to move the folder INTO another folder. There is no "move up or down" option unfortunately.

It is currently sorting my folders in alphabetical order, but I wish to change this. I have been through all the settings and cannot find anywhere I can manually sort my email folders.

Can anyone assist?

Thank you

Thomas

Can Microsoft please allow the manual sorting?!? Folks have been asking for this for 19 months now and it is super frustrating.
Adding folders to Favorites is not the same, and does not work in cases where the folder has subfolders (i.e. folders in Favorites cannot have subfolders).

Hello everyone - I was also searching for this feature and kept googling around. I am not sure if this has already been said on the previous 27 pages here but I found out that the feature is currently "in Rollout" by Microsoft:

It's also not possible on my site - I also have a few customers who are awaiting this feature.

I can agree with everyone that this function is needed ASAP for people with many folders. Takes time to find the right folder as it is now. Otherwise I like the new Outlook. Please find a solution for this

    thanks

What I did for a work around was to rename the folders with a "1 -" then "2-" and so on. This allowed me to keep the active ones near the top of the list. Just a thought until Microsoft allows us to do what the older version did

This reply was over a year ago and the problem still persists. I have been forced into using the new outlook as features on the previous version stop working, and now the new version doesn't have baseline functionality that the prior version had. As others have also expressed, I use many folders to sort messages, and the specific order in which I place those folders impacts my ability to work efficiently.

    FIX THIS NOW.

It is wildly unacceptable to push users into new software that fails to maintain basic features that the previous software had.
