New Outlook won't let me add my outlook email account. "This email account cannot be added to Outlook" Advanced setup does not work either?

    Yeah, I did follow your lead and clicked switch to Outlook, The Windows Mail client started. so I just continued with the process and add my Outlook.com account. Thanks for the direction...

    Good, I'm glad to hear that it works for Windows Mail Client too. I wasn't sure that it would work for any other situation than switching between Office Outlook and New Outlook.

    I have resolved , i think the new outlook is junk for this problem soo for risolving the problem i will suggest you to unistall the new outlook from settings , restart the computer and the old outlook will be works fine. I add my other emails with no issues,

    If it was, it's not anymore.

    I used my wife's e-mail account to initiate outlook to at least open.

    I then resolved my personal e-mail password issue (both are IMAP, btw). I then removed my wife's account, which I had a hard time setting back up again.

    Had to manually re-enter all the settings.
