Will there be a way to continue using Windows mail instead of the new Outlook?

I keep seeing that Outlook is supposed to take over Windows Mail as the default mail app. But will the Windows Mail app still be available to use? I do not want to be forced to use Outlook. When I tried the preview, it had ads that I thought were my actual mail, and the app I find is just too busy overall. I don't want a bunch of stuff in the way of me reading my email. Windows Mail is simple, I like the interface, it's not too busy, and my mail is prominent within the window.

I got tired of the shenanigans and switched to Wino Mail app. I will likely switch to Linux OS in the future as MS is starting to go off the rails.

Why is it if Microsoft have killed Windows mail it still keeps updating via MS store (had one today), this seems strange if MS no longer support?

Very simple. They want to make you pay for the service; otherwise, you'll see ads. Another reason is that they can read all your mail. Copilot analyzes your mail and creates an overview of what you wrote. This is supposed to make things easier for you. On the other hand, their privacy policy states that they don't do this. They do it for you. They don't use the text they read and summarize. It's interesting that this option cannot be turned off. In the web application, they read without the possibility of disabling it. In other words, they can read all your emails and check what is written, And now, the icing on the cake. If you use another email client, they still read your emails, and that's okay, or so they say. Everything related to their servers has already been read, used, and analyzed. It is not allowed to disable this option. Currently impossible. All your emails on the site are summarized and read. If they don't use it, why can't it be disabled? I believe many people are wondering why and who allowed them to do this. Very sneaky and rude. Now that you know they've already read everything, there's no point in switching to another email client. All that's left is to pay and enjoy the benefits that you might not even need. A perfectly good email client was ruined just so they could analyze everything and convince you to pay. You paid for Windows in some way—either with the purchase of your computer or directly. They decided that this no longer counts and took away your ability to use what you want and what you bought. I hope someone will sue them for this.

Microsoft never intends to build on mail and if you ever have to reset your PC or upgrade to a new one you will have a big headache. Just choose it. The difference isn't much in it's function just that they are getting more information from you. My NEW computer with Win 11 just won't tolerate the old app. My upgrade settings are that I automatically receive updates. Perhaps that in itself is why it automatically downloads Outlook again and again.

This is far too technical for this very senior citizen. I need a 5-year-old in the neighborhood to help me. Sad to say, we are all older citizens in this area with no younger people. We are doomed.

I used the Outlook remover tool on my Win 11 (NEW PC not upgraded from Win 10) and it worked until after 12.31. Then I started having problems again. I reset my computer and then I had problems with store. I realized that there were settings in the new Win 11 (NEW PC) that say allow apps from everywhere, or only from Store. I never noticed that there was a training choice. That you can accept the security settings or not as you install them. I tried Windows update tool and other tools. It would say that it repaired certain security issues but again Windows automatically downloads Outlook. So I reset my computer again. The get any app from anywhere didn't work AGAIN. And even with the Super Administrator account., the take ownership hack , newest windows powershell. upgraded intel driver. Outlook remover tool worked for that day and then the mail icon on my taskbar changed again to the Outlook icon. Without even opening Mail myself. It just automatically downloaded again and again as I started my computer or if when my computer automatically searches for updates it would download again. . It worked for a day and then Outlook downloaded again the next day. I also don't like the constant notifications of receiving new mail from Wino mail. I chose no notifications in their settings but it still continued. I chose no notifications in Windows and it stopped. I had to download a separate calendar that diid/does use the Win calendar program. Everything still flows from USPS, Amazon, FedEx etc as well as my appointments I had in Calendar. Wino mail seems to be the best. Blue mail is good but didn't seem to transfer all my archived items. Blue mail doesn't go automatically to the next item. There just doesn't seem to be a way anymore to use Mail and Calendar and it's gotta be something we have to deal with. The only way to make the fonts larger in Wino Mail is to change Windows scale up and that takes a little tweaking too. Scale too high and everything is blurry. I just brought the scale up a bit. It's ok but I have to buy the upgraded Wino mail because it only will use up to 3 email addresses. At least (for now) it doesn't seem to be a yearly thing and it's available for $10 and in Store. I guess they are getting more data on us no matter what email program we use. Not crazy about Thunderbird either. I just have problems with small fonts on programs on my 17" laptop. Who knows if Windows is going to change Wino Mail too, require more $$ or whatever. I believe it's just a privacy matter. They want to easily read our email.
