I tried the new Outlook for windows, I realized the File menu -and others- disappeared.

2025, yet New Outlook still doesn't have this capability? Why M$ forces this on folks is beyond me (I don't consider cloud app profits a good reason to deploy). I have nothing nice to say, so I'll take our mother's advice and not say anything more.

Based on your comments my decision is to NOT migrate to any new format.
My *.pst files are far too valuable to me to be lost to some engineer's pipedreams.
I don't suppose anybody has given thought, if we are forced to adopt some new format
about how people can properly store and archive their data? I like and use the cloud;
however I will never give up complete control of my files and insist that I must have a full
copy on my hard drive and in my personal possession at all times.
Agree it really looks like OWA with an app on my PC. The calendar tab was something to get used having the overlay as default was a trip when you have more than one person calendar to look at.
Is the roadmap for Outlook going to have this item added? So, we can see the progress and let our user know when the changes are expected.

I have a folder structure in my PC documents area organised by subjects and drag my emails into each area for history on each subject instead of using a .PST file. I tried to drag a email into my folders directly from the new Outlook for testing and my emails do not come across as expected. It looks like the new outlook will not allow this function for storing emails with my other documents in each folder.
I can do it with my current Office 10 Outlook version and open the email from where I have placed them, is this function going to be in the new Outlook. It makes sense to group all my documents in one spot together on each subject and open them from where they are stored. That way there is no need for a .PST file if you like to do this.
The new Outlook appears to be browser access without the browser.
Even the settings apply to Outlook on the web.
