No 'SAVE AS' option for attachments in new Outlook desktop app

Dear All,

Outlook offered to switch my application to the new Outlook version (there is a switch item below the window close button).

It looks like the in-browser version and works better than the former, but it has a missing option in the attachments drop-down menu, called 'save as'.

We get a lot of documents in our emails, which should be saved in different projects' locations on a local hard drive. The in-browser version and the former desktop app have this option but this new app does not.

How can I add this function back again?

    Drag and drop between Outlook and SharePoint must return as well. This will be a showstopper if this functionality does not return.

    22nd of August and the "Save As" is still not present. How long is this basic feature going to take to develop. I will have to revert to the Old Outlook until it works.

    You can click on the attached file and it opens the preview, then you just need to press Ctrl+S and that opens ''save as'.

    This certainly helps for a temporary fix. Thank you for posting.

    For the Microsoft folks, we still don't have the option to view the file from within the preview pane or to "save as" without having to open a separate window. Furthermore, the "Save all attachments" option is not available, which is critical for those of us who receive emails with many attachments that can be saved in bulk

    I just discovered this. I had been using the PWA outlook, "installed" so it kind of acts like a regular app.

    The PWA version is nearly identical to the new app, but on this particular feature the PWA version uses the setting of your browser, which I have set to "prompt for a location."

    The PWA version does have issues sometimes, however, especially after updates. I've had to "uninstall" & "reinstall" sometimes to get it to behave.

    Why on earth would they roll this out without this functionality is beyond me.
