Outlook App opening a browser Tab

While using the Outlook App on Windows 10, Creating a new event in Calendar, and ONLY when selecting Invite Attendees button, Outlook will open a tab in my browser that does nothing but have the outlook logo.

    The good news is, they're working on it! Several posts up, someone reported the link that MS is aware of the issue and plan to have a fix in April. I glanced through it and I believe it mentions the calendar issue but it doesn't mention the startup issue. Since they both produce the same result (the browser opening), lets hope they fix both at the same time!

    We got exactly the same thing, but through looking at the trigger, this time it isn't room finder in meeting creations causing the issue, but instead Microsoft have added yet another integration called "meeting insights" which relies on OWA to function - and if you have OWA turned off, opening a meeting from your calendar in which the "meeting insights" button appears will launch a web browser trying to load OWA. I wonder if this is what you're seeing too?

    Unfortunately, we've not found a way to disable this at all yet. Two steps forward one step back with Outlook currently with all this infuriating OWA forced-integration rubbish.

    Could you provide a link? A Google search on this code produces a chinese and a russian result. DuckDuckGo doesn't produce much more.

    I am seeing the same issue pop up with users. Started with one person but now having multiple people report that when they click on a calendar event in the Outlook desktop app it opens a browser window. They can still edit calendar events but no idea why the browser window is opening, no users have access to OWA

    Surely it is related to the recent update.

    2. Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2210 Build 16.0.15726.20070) 64-bit
    3. I am not sure if we are hybrid. Our office server is local, and we have two offices that are on the same business account.
    4. Not able to open outlook in browser.
