Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
The solution (for now):
Task bar moved from bottom of screen to the side of screen (I can not figure out how to fix this)

How do I move the task bar (has apps: mail, tasks, calendar, etc.) back to the bottom of the screen? Is this called the task bar? I can't figure out how to restore the settings. See picture.

Go to File
Select Options on the bottom left
Select Advanced on the left menu
Uncheck the first setting, Show Apps in Outlook
That will revert to the "classic" Outlook navigation bar and move it back down the bottom. (You'll have to restart Outlook for it to take effect.)

2022-10-06T22:52:52+00:00 Hmm.. this annoyed me for a few days after I first noticed it. Then I decided that I must have changed something inadvertently so I started researching changing it back to the bottom pane. Now I realise after finding this thread I can call off the hunt - it's a done deal.
On reflection it cost me mild aggrevation for a few days, and then an hour or so trying to "fix" it. Now I am just flat out annoyed.
Having said all of that I can say that MS has reinforced my decision earlier in the year to wean myself off a lifetime of MS usage and delve into the world of Google products. Give it a go - you will be pleasantly surprised..
