I have multiple emails that are the same except for a slight change on the end (eg emailaddressone, emailaddresstwo) on New Outlook, I can't distinguish them. Is there a way to change the display name of email accounts and also change the order at which they show up in the list?

If that’s true it’s disgusting and almost like blackmail to only make it work properly if you pay them money. That is such a simple thing and was set up to do so with the old version. Nowhere did it tell anyone that this would not be possible to do with the ‘new’ version.
I've come to the conclusion that Microsoft doesn't want to offer a good email client free in Windows. They'll offer something crappy, and they know it, just to say Windows has email. It's a strategy to get everyone to subscribe to Office 365 for $$$.
This thread is 3 years old, I wonder if Microsoft will ever add this feature to Outlook (new).
I thought I would switch to the new Outlook, as I like the modern and simple interface but I am now considering reverting to the classic version.
Yup and they have now taken away the option to use the old version so i'm not sending my morning unproductively looking for new e-mail options!! Not happy!!

The feelings are mutual. One option would be BlueMail. I suggest installing it via the .exe file vs downloading from Microsoft Store. It seems to be a later version. Definitely not without its issues as well, but at least you can change the display name.

Despite the passage of time and multiple Windows updates, this issue remains unresolved.
The inability to accurately display sender names renders the Windows Outlook application unusable for my professional needs. I have attempted to resolve this issue by testing with multiple email addresses and recipients, but the problem persists.
Given the lack of development and the continued presence of this critical bug, I have been forced to uninstall Windows Outlook. As Apple Mail is not available for the Windows operating system, I am seeking alternative email clients that offer a user experience comparable to Apple Mail and the previous, functional version of Windows Outlook.
I have briefly explored Spark Mail, but found its interface to be overly complex and cluttered.
People, can you suggest me alternative email app?
