How do I change the display name of emails on "New Outlook"?

I have multiple emails that are the same except for a slight change on the end (eg emailaddressone, emailaddresstwo) on New Outlook, I can't distinguish them. Is there a way to change the display name of email accounts and also change the order at which they show up in the list?

    Amazing. Changing the display name is one of the most basic functionalities an email client should have, and Microsoft has not included it yet. They should have postponed the addition of, say, "Joyful animations", and focused on the essentials...

    I reached out to support, and their response boiled down to

    1. This feature is currently not available but is being worked on (no ETA for completion)
    2. If you want this feature toggle off New Outlook in the top right

    Hopefully, they will add this and other features to New Outlook soon as I really enjoy the UI improvements over the traditional Outlook appearance.

    Hi, so that works with normal Outlook but I was wondering if it was possible using the "New Outlook" as there is no File setting.

    Yeah, not being able to change the 'From' display name is really quite rubbish. Also if there's any issue with the account server settings, you can't edit them, you have to delete the account and re-add it.

    And if you toggle to New Outlook from the Windows 11 Mail application, there doesn't seem to be any way to return to Mail.

    This is a major issue as I was helping my Mum sort out her computer, and New Outlook doesn't send via IMAP on her account - messages get stuck in 'Draft'. We're now completely stuck.

    It is incredible that Microsoft would release a product with these major issues. I am a software developer myself, and if I tried to release something with these sort of problems to production, I would expect a QA person to send it straight back.
