right click paste suddenly stopped working in outlook email

Normally I can use my mouse to highlight, copy and paste text and URL's from just about anywhere (files on my computer or online) and paste into the body of an email in outlook - have been doing this without any issue for more than five years.

Now, suddenly and without any changes made by me and without any obvious explanation -or solution- I can only copy and paste ONE time after a fresh sign in. Thereafter I cannot copy and paste with my mouse - when I attempt to, a different window opens, it has a paste option in the menu but it does nothing other than close the window.

I can paste with the mouse in the to, cc and subject fields as usual / normal - only the body of the email is affected.

I can paste into the body of the email from the keyboard with Ctr-V - please don't answer with that as the solution - it isn't, it's an alternative.

I am looking to fix the mouse problem - it is how I work and want to continue to work.

Thanks

p.s. Instructions here suggest inserting a screen shot - made two, tried inserting / uploading here but ... that appears not to work either - I don't see any screen shots here do you ?

I've been using Firefox for Outlook, before it switched from Hotmail. So, what happened; nobody at MS will fix it; believe they are trying to force everyone to theirs. NOTE: I use Chrome for SPECIAL sites, use EDGE for special sites and actually still use 11 on sites that have not upgraded; mostly friends of mine. Come on MS, fix the copy and paste issue or hire someone from Firefox to assist!

Clicking Lock does nothing! Actually if MS is not aware based on all the people saying it is an issue; they don't have the Expertise to resolve befuddles me.

I am using Outlook.live.com/mail...for years, that was Hotmail before changes. I create an email, then copy a link or verbage and try to paste it in the email, and the mouse doesn't show and NOTHING appears. Blank! I have rebooted, cleared all issues and PREFER to continue using Firefox! Something changed on MS system, and others are saying the same thing, 2023??? Thanks of specifics that are causing issue and how to remedy.

I still have mostly the exact same problem as you do Jan.

This has been going on for quite a while, and as you said many people have mentioned it to GoDaddy.

Microsoft has to be aware of it.

I have no idea why they ignore millions of their customers having a problem with their email system.

This could be the reason nobody wants to use their browser and why their phones failed, ignoring customer

    issues.

I had Windows phones and really liked them but they let the market slip away.

Shortcuts may be different in different browser. I am not a computer specialists, but able to find solution to a problem.

Not only hotmail cause problem for users with pasting text. This does not happen on different browser. But I like my Safari. Microsoft and any other developer should not complicate life just because some people wants to use what they like and got use to.

Shortcut COMMAND+V, works on my MacBook Pro 2012
