Workaround for Outlook.com users experiencing duplicate Contacts after enabling Contact Sync in Teams App

My laptop is telling me that OneDrive isn't connected.

I cannot access my work or hotmail emails using Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Teams appears to be not working too (I don't use it)

I do not currently have Microsoft Teams or email access on my phone

Seems counter-intuitive to install anything on my phone to help UNSYNC duplicate contacts

Am I missing something, here?

I have followed these steps but I found my device wasn't synchronised already.. what is the issue now ?

If you are a Microsoft personal account user and have either Teams and Outlook apps installed (and Contact sync enabled in both) or the Phone Link installed, you might observe duplicate contacts in Outlook due to a recent issue with contact synchronization. You can use the below workaround to remove the device synced contacts and all the duplicates created by this issue. 

How to Delete Device Contacts Sub-Folder1. Go to Teams App on your mobile device (iOS or Android).1. Click on your Profile Icon Home and navigate to Settings and People.

1. Turn off Sync using “Sync my device contacts” toggle
2. The device contacts in Outlook will be automatically deleted in a few days.
3. We will publish an update once the fix is available, after which users can re-enable the “Sync my device contacts” toggle in Teams.

Hello. I came here from the Service Status page to report that the search function in web-based Outlook is still not working, and the Service Status is thus not accurate (as of Friday, July 7, 12:20 pm New York time).

Mine started working a couple days ago. We'll see if it keeps working or not.

Was without access to my Outlook email account, on my Windows PC, from June 19 until today (June 29). Access to the account appears to have resumed. We'll see if Microsoft actually fixed the problem for the long-term.
