How to get rid of a new tab on Outlook upper tool bar stating: Try the new Outlook. It recently popped up & replaced my "delete" tab, which is now inside the scroll down menu.

Outlook | Windows | Classic Outlook for Windows | For business

Edited to add: Note that the registry key applies only to classic Outlook desktop software (2016, 2019, 2021, Outlook in Microsoft Office 365 software). It does not work for Windows Mail.

Hello Dennis

You're talking about the button in my screenshot? It's not a toolbar but you can hide it using a registry key -

Image

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\General
DWORD: HideNewOutlookToggle
Value: 1

Start typing regedit on the start menu and when the Registry Editor comes up, open it.

Browse to the path, right click on the right side and choose New > DWORD. Paste HideNewOutlookToggle, press enter then right click on it and choose modified and choose modify. change 0 to 1. \

Restart Outlook.

Edited to add: I have a ready-to-use registry key in my article at Use Classic Outlook, not New Outlook (slipstick.com)

Highly recomend you try thunderbird instead of outlook. Its not as clean looking as outlook but has all the functionality. Possibly better functionality. Like you I get entirely sick of all of the Ads and forced spyware microsoft forces on us. Windows used to objectively good. Those days are done. The only reason I even still have windows is because of school. As soon I graduate I am leaving windows for good. Right now I dual boot linux. Everything with linux has been better. Well... not the office software, but for general desktop daily use... entirely better.

Windows 11 has now become a bunch of ads, spyware and useless invasive as heavy features, getting much worse than the 22H2 version, I stayed with 22H2 indeed. I use native Mail App along with Postbox, no outlook, no word or office suite, but Libre Office. No Edge but FF, No WinDefender spyware and no Windows update ****. no AI.
