outlook.live.com quick actions moved to far right of email and I can't move them back beside Sender/From and Subject.

Thanks Rob. What you documented is what I've been doing since the change and it's about the best we can do. FWIW, I would love to know the reasoning behind the change. I was in IT before I retired and helped BETA-test a lot of software. I *know* 100% there was a reason behind the move, I'd just like to know what it was. Knowing would make me feel a little better about this whole thing, if that makes any sense. I too am really bothered by the fact there was no official reply from MS, even via one of the Moderators here, about this change. It's super disheartening because I really do love my Microsoft products and am a very long-time user from back in the 80s. MS 365 is at the core of my processes, and I've been a Outlook and Hotmail subscriber from the start (my email is @msn.com)! Do better Microsoft.

It looks like no one from outlook is going to address this problem, so I guess we have to try to do it ourselves. This tip at least helps me not to be erasing the wrong message (which I have done a lot since they made that idiotic change). I appreciate any help that will make using this e-mail easier-----not harder!

100%. I really don't have a clue what the hell they thought this was supposed to accomplish, and ignoring everyone's pleas to return to the old layout really pisses me and everyone else off, but they don't give a rat's rear.

There is a little graphic of the layout of the Quick Action Toolbar in the Settings page, and for a second, I thought it might be a slider wiget to allow us to move the buttons where WE wanted them. Silly me!

I agree Outlook is still better than the other online options, too. It's sad that over the last few years, they took a good product and trashed it for no good reason. And as we all know, it could have been easily avoided if they cared even in the slightest about those that use their products!

It's been a while since I've gotten any alerts to this thread, so figured Microsoft really doesn't care, which is the uttermost display of arrogance towards their customers, but guess that's just the way it is. I hate Gmail and guess I will continue to use Outlook despite my anger at MS for making this change, as it's still a lot better than Gmail, in my opinion.

I went to Settings to see if they had magically fixed the problem with Quick Actions, but of course they hadn't. However, I did stumble across something fairly easy that is the next best thing to having a Delete button back on the Left side of the email lists: Right Click the message you are hovering over and the drop down list has a Delete action. It's not quite as good of a solution than restoring the original location of the Delete quick action button, but it's better than moving your mouse all the way to the right and possibly losing sight of the particular message you want to delete. Also, since I have my Viewing Pane set to return to message list after deleting a message using the Delete button on the main toolbar, the next message becomes highlighted and ready to delete if I leave my mouse over the Delete button on the main toolbar at the top of the list, allowing me to easily delete consecutive messages quickly (but you do have to be careful and not go too fast!)
