Hi,
I've been using copy and paste frequently in my work Outlook account for almost two years without any issues.
The other day I found I could no longer paste text into the email body. It doesn't matter where it's from, and copy works fine, just not paste.
What happened just prior to this was a window popped up saying something about allow or block pasting from clipboard, but I didn't read it properly and clicked block, and suddenly it wouldn't let me paste anything (unsurprisingly... just I'd never seen that pop-up before so it caught me off guard and I didn't know if it was genuine)
Anyway, I closed the app and reopened it and tried again. This time the pop-up appeared again and I clicked 'allow' and thought it was all fine.
It still wouldn't allow me to paste, so I closed the app again, reopened it, and it was working, which it continued to do all day.
The next day (yesterday) I opened it as usual, no pop-up, but it wouldn't let me paste. Now if I click on paste, the options box just hangs there and doesn't disappear, and it still won't let me paste.
The only thing I can think is there was an update the other day and I wonder if there's a bug in the new version.
Does anyone know how I can revert to a prior version perhaps? I really need this function for work, it's disabling without it.

ETA: I've just tried using ctrl+shift+v and that allows me to paste. So this is something to do with Outlook itself I think. But I have a workaround for the time being, if that helps anyone with the same issue.

I'm having the exact same problem, literally having arisen overnight. Ctrl+V is not working either. It's extremely frustrating and is causing a tremendous waste of time. Microsoft, please advise us how to rectify this issue ASAP.
Thanks so much; I had the same problem that suddenly couldn't right-click mouse to paste; used your suggestion to "about:config" etc, and it worked! Thank you! Why do these changes happen??
My GOD, using the about:config and changing three items from false to true really bring back the PASTE feature using the right click on the mouse.

Just a follow up solution to my question. My frustration was(because of some update) no longer being able to paste from the Snipping Tool into my email within Microsoft Edge. One of my emails is a combination of yahoo connected to AT&T all online not Outlook. What worked was to go to Edge Settings found in the dropdown menu in the upper right corner of Edge. Once you are in Settings go to Reset Settings. Once I reset to original settings all worked again. Edge will forget anything you have saved into it such as Login IDs, Passwords etc. Make sure you know these.
simply type about:config where you'd type www. etc at the top.
accept the 'risk'
you'll see a list , and if you look down that list you'll see the 3 items he's mentioned.
You'll see in this list a column that says true/false...to change that click on the icon on the far right hand side, just once, and you'll see False changes to True..do that for all 3 items, then just close down the page, close firefox, and restart firefox.
then, when you try and paste into an email you'll see, when you right click in the area you want to paste..an option. PASTE..
