Hi,

I have been receiving an email about resetting my Microsoft password so far today i received 6 messages with the code to reset. This email has not been open in awhile, however i do have it linked to my phone for easy accessibility to emails.  How do i get the emails to stop.

I have the same problem. I received password reset notification few days ago.

And the day before yesterday my password was changed which i was not aware until yesterday. However, I managed to reset the password and get control over my account I had some sensitive information like my ID copy in email attachment so i guess the hacker have my information now.

Now again today couple of hours ago i received the password reset code to my recovery email so seems the hacker is trying again.

I've already activated 2 way authentication security and removed my recovery email, leaving the mobile phone number only.

i don't know what else should i do or where can i report?

P.S. my account was hacked before, long time ago, probably 10 years ago.

If anyone could give me some information would be good. Thanks

See this is odd. Everyone else is saying they see login attempts, but i do not. I get the reset email but securty page shows no login attemps.

I'm in the same situation as you.

UPDATE: My fix was to create a gmail account with a complicated name that only I know. I then set this as the recovery password email address for both my primary and secondary hotmail accounts. Now when the hackers try to reset my password, they don't know how to autocomplete the recovery email address e.g., *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. So hopefully I will not get a blizzard of emails with a password reset code, and if I do, it is going to an email address that I don't regularly check so it will be less irritating. The only downside to this is that it is crucial that I do not lose the login details to this new gmail account, in case I am the one that needs to change my hotmail passwords!!!

What do you use as the recovery email address for the complicated name email? -- one of you original email addresses? What happens if hackers succeed in doing a password reset on the complicated name email?
