Microsoft Account Locked (Compliance Lock)

Hi,

When logging in to any Microsoft service I receive the message:

Your account has been locked

We’ve detected some activity that violates our Microsoft Services Agreement and have locked your account.

Unlocking your account

To unlock your account, you’ll need some additional assistance. Navigate to "aka.ms/compliancelock" and we’ll get you to the right place.

When I follow the link and fill out the form I received the reply that I violated the Code of Conduct and won't be able to access the services anymore. Any charges to my linked credit card will be stopped.

It does not tell me how I violated the Code of Conduct, nor does it tell me how to reinstate my account, while the form I filled out is called "account reinstatement". It also does not tell me how to retrieve my data.

The form states: "Your account has been suspended for suspicious activity, sending unsolicited emails, or for violating of Microsoft’s Terms of Use agreement, such as hosting photos, video or other content in violation of the Code of Conduct."

I'm pretty sure though I did not send SPAM or hosted/posted/shared inappropriate content. As for suspicious activity, I'm not sure what is included here, but I'm a basic user of the services.

What I would like to know is:

  1. How did I violate the CoC? In my opinion you can't just cut people off without providing a clear argument on what happened. As far as I can tell I did not violate any of the 10 commandments listed in the CoC.
  2. This account has existed for 23 years and never before has it been reviewed for any violation (that I know of). How can you just disable it and tell me I will never be able to use it again? (without providing any reason)
  3. How will I retrieve my data and access my purchased and payed for licenses?
    • Hotmail email conversations (not a priority as I don't use it for email and my last email sent was from March).
    • Onedrive data, including pictures of the early days of my children's lives. (I pay for additional storage)
    • Access to my Azure resources, connected to my MSDN subscription.
    • My (payed) Skype-In phone number I use for my business.
    • My MCP ID and transcript. This is my professional learning transcript but also counts towards my company's Microsoft Parnter Network competencies.
    • My digitally purchased XBOX games and apps (not a priority)

I've called and chatted with support, local and world-wide, for different services, but all are receiving the same answer from the CDOC team, as can be found under ticket number ***removed for privacy***, which I find unacceptable.

It's been 14 days now... Please help!

Regards,

Reinto_123

Right??? Been a customer for years lining their pockets and now that I've been locked out of my account it tells me "This issue doesn't warrant a call back" Are you kidding me!? My thousands of dollars worth of games I can't access doesn't warrant 5 minutes of your time?! will not be back ever again unless this is resolved and fast. I will continue to tell every person for as long as I breathe to stay away from these crooks. Already printed out the form and contemplating contacting a lawyer, haven't yet but it's definitely on the table. Absolutely unreal for a company to do this to loyal customers. By far worst experience I have ever had with a company. It should never be this difficult to get into contact with customer service.

You’re absolutely right. Unless this happens to a popular xbox perosnality/influencer on social media, nothing will done. And there algorithm will continue to ban people for no reason. I had account for 10 years. Used it for gaming and nothing else. Have £1300 worth of digital games i no longer have access to. I certanley didnt break any rules. I literaly just use it for gaming. It took me three months to hear back from online safety teams. Just to be told my account wont be unlocked, they wont tell me why it was locked and that is final

I've been reaching out to every Youtuber that I can think of. No traction yet.

When is somebody like a big YouTuber going to get their Microsoft account snatched? Once that happens, they'll rile up their entire community of at least 100k people to get Microsoft to respond, and they might actually confess that they messed up and give everyone their accounts back. Sadly, it seems like Microsoft is only targeting little people like us (meaning no offense) and it doesn't matter how many of us they harm, they can just keep doing it because nobody else notices. I absolutely hate cowards who confidently destroy only certain people's lives because it's in their power and they'll suffer no consequences. I get teary seeing a company of cowards who give you nothing but automated messages saying "Oh, you can still get your lives back!" when really they've crushed it into the ground for breaking 1 of 580,462,507,892,346,709,079,263 Terms of Service, even though nobody has broken any of them, and they don't even tell you which one you're accused of. I guess this is what Twitch of 2019 was like, except at least the evil mods gave you a little more detail for why they're banning innocent accounts, even if it was for something like breathing. Bottom line, until they have the gall to do this to somebody with approximately 1 million subs on YouTube or some other gaming superstar, Microsoft will never feel the need to give back what's ours. Shame of the hypocritical world we live in.

P.S. if that "SolarEclipseReturns" guy comes back saying even more bs like "you all broke the rules" or "you all deserve this, stop lying" please ignore him. He used to roam all over the Microsoft forums either giving very blatant feedback and slandering/bullying others for saying things he immediately disagreed with. I think his account is removed, but don't quote me on that.

I cannot sign into my account. Locked out and answered every question to the best of my knowledge. Requested a call back... Never got one. This automated bs system you have set up is the biggest scam ever. I have about two years of game pass ultimate wasting away for the last 6 months because it's almost impossible to get in contact with a real person. This company has been an absolute nightmare for me lately and if this can't be resolved ASAP I want every account terminated and I won't be back. Just waiting for that two years to be up and to have you start charging me for an account I can't even get into and have nothing I can do about it because your customer service is all automated and doesn't do anything to help.
