Outlook 2016 "open in new window" doesn't remember size

Hi Everyone,

since yesterday my Outlook 2016 via Office 365 (64bit Version 1808 Build 10730.20102) does not remember the size of a new window opened -> e.g. Calendar or Tasks.

Everytime I resize it, close it and reopen it, it will open in a smaller Window on the wrong postion.

I have rebooted, started in Outlook in safe mode, disabled all Add-Ins and also reinstalled Office ... nothing helped.

This is really annoying and I need a fix for this.

Example:

Outlook | Windows | Classic Outlook for Windows | For home

A 2012 answer seems to help and thanks to:

Change the window state of your main Outlook window from Maximized to normal. Resize this window to your liking. Now open a new Outlook window and resize this to your liking as well. Close this window and then close the main Outlook window. These sizes should be remembered now.

This is annoying as heck.  Luckily, the fix is simple.  You have to set the size you want in what I will call the "prime" window.  Do this:

    1.  Close out of Office completely.

    2.  Open back up.  Hit tab to shrink from full screen.

    3.  Change the size of that window to the size you want.

    4.  Close out of Office again by Ctrl-clicking the X

All new non-full-size windows should now open in the correct size.

Hey, I have tried this already, but it does not work. Windows randomly appear in different sizes and Outlook also opens new Windows in smaller sizes and other positions.

It's working if I File > Exit to close Outlook then reopening Outlook opens both windows at the size had I have at. But just using right click, open in new window opens a small window. Here, the window is always 1285x1200.

    Hi Jennifer,

what do you want to state with this copy/paste text that has not value at all ?

This is about a problem not about a feature I want in the future.

What are the next steps ? How will this be fixed ? Is the Outlook Development Team working on this ?

Marking random posts as an answer will not solve this.

    The issue still ongoing.

I expect this to be solved sometime soon, especially as you could replicate that issue yourself !

    Thanks

    Andy

I can confirm that behavior. Have tried this before. But It is not a proper work around as this forces me to have at least 2 Outlook windows open at all times. I want to use the "open in new window" whenever I need it and have the proper sized window open up. As it used to be all the time ...
