Outlook calendar 'changes' appointment into a meeting after editing.

Outlook Calendar in MS Office Professional Plus 2016 (version 1803). Hello, this problem has just started (Friday 20/4) ... If I click and drag an appointment (diary entry) to move it on iPhone in iOS Mail app, it turns the appointment into a meeting and wants to send attendees an email. I'm the only attendee as I created what is basically a diary entry (appointment). So I get notifications that a 'meeting' has changed AND I get an email. It's crazy. It's all ok when I use the Office Outlook app on PC so it could be an issue with iOS??? It syncs all the appointments back to Outlook as meetings so I have to clear notifications and emails on PC and iPhone. Please help me to fix this as it's very annoying. Thank you very much....

This problem has nothing to do with IoS or Android. To make sure, I turned off my phone so no apps would be involved. On my PC I logged into my Outlook account on Edge, and then opened Outlook 2016 in Windows 10 and created a new Appointment for about an hour from now. It shows correctly on Outlook 2016, but as soon as the appointment popped up online in Outlook Calendar, after less than a second it was converted into a Meeting where, as has been mentioned in previous posts, as Organizer I invited myself.

    This a BIG BUG!!

I only hope Microsoft will eventually be able to recreate my calendar correctly, because there are a whole bunch of past appointments that are now meetings and cannot be edited.

Thanks RickShaw81 ... I'm testing every which way to create & edit. It is a massive bug and so annoying. Watch this space for a solution and please pass on any help to us here.

I shutdown my computer to test how Outlook.com would respond when I edited an Appointment using my Apple's Calendar App on my iPhone.  Outlook.com converted the Appointment to a Meeting when I saved the edit.  This point towards problem being Outlook.com, not Outlook Desktop App on computer. Below is link to instructions for re-installing Outlook if you want to give it a try. Remember to post results to this thread if you re-install Outlook Desktop App.

Thanks MG for the links and this test result. I get similar and might extract my Outlook.com account from Outlook 2016 PC app first and try that. If that doesn't work, I'll delete and re-install the Outlook 2016 PC app.

Interestingly there doesn't seem to be a problem with creating and editing in the Windows 10 Calendar app. More evidence that it's an Office Outlook 2016 problem.
