The word on the street is that Outlook is wanting MFA.  So either you have to turn on MFA or disable ADAL

Fix get them onto MFA or

Close Outlook

Open Regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity

Create REG_DWORD

EnableADAL

Hi Sam,

Based on the error message, the issue is related to Trusted Platform Module(TPM). You need to check whether your TPM works correctly. You try to back up your data and clear TPM. It will reset your security processor to its default settings. For your reference:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4096339/windows-10-device-protection-in-windows-defender-security-center#clearTPM

For more details about TPM, you can follow the link below:

Regards,

Carlos

    Sorry, doesn't work, Susan.

My issue is from within Teams. This is brand new. All latest Win 10, Office etc. and Teams worked super good for several months. Then, suddenly, cannot login to remote company account and dropping the 80090030.

    Regards

I was getting the same error too and after 4 days of trying to find solutios everywhere, I have found the culprit.

My setup was office 365(business acct) + OneDrive(business acct) running and logged in.

Personal outlook.com acct connected through OneDrive only, not outlook connection to this one.

Everytiome I restarted my pc it would give me the same error, but no cluee which acct was the one giving it out, so after so many tries I found out it was the one drive acct from the personal one. so what I did was:

I went to my personal outlook acct online and in preferences  disablde 2 step verification and now it works like a charm.

Just wanted to get it out there for those who have the same setup like me.

of course after i got a new app spefcific password, i reenabled 2fa, and still works.

    Thanks!

It was indeed an MFA sign in issue with Outlook.

Would have been nice if Microsoft knew that but I suppose it's easier to re-word the OP's question and ask it back to the OP.

    Cheers
