Turn Off Advanced Threat Protection in Outlook.com

First, I have an @msn.com email address. This is not an Office 365 business email address!

All the links in my email prefaced with the https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com.  Looking this up is part of the Exchange advanced threat protection package which they talk about in Office 365 for business.  How do I turn this off for my personal @msn.com email account.  It is actually causing more problems for me than it "protects" me so I need to turn this off.  How do I turn this off?  Again, this is happening on a personal account, not a business account.

Thanks.

I too submitted a ticket to Outlook Help with the text "Please disable Safe Links for the following email aliases;(Your email address here..)

I received a response with similar text as above but which included the quote below stating that if I reply to their reply, I can "have the feature deactivated on your behalf".  I just replied in the affirmative to that email.  We will see what comes of it.

    (Quote from supports response...)

*"*To provide the best protection for your account, these features are on by default and not designed to be turned off. You can reply to this email to have the feature deactivated on your behalf, but we do not recommend it."

This is more than likely no news, but I followed the steps of one member (on here, I think), and got results.  SafeLinks was turned off by advanced technical support.

    1. Open Outlook.Live.Com and sign in.
    2. Click the ? in the upper right-hand corner.
    3. Navigate down to Help and click

A Contact Support text box will open and ask what's up.  Enter a statement about disabling SafeLinks. Follow the trail until you get on Email Tech Support option.  Email that you would like SafeLinks disabled in your Outlook account.

I was sent an email that explained there had been issues with SafeLinks, and that my concern would be taken care of.  The problem was resolved.

    Hi Nite,

Making changes in ATP requires the configuration of policies to activate and target specific users, groups, or domains to be protected by the service. This needs an advanced technical support. Thus, we recommend that you post your query to our TechNet Forum.

This worked for me.  I sent the following to ******@support.outlook.com:

Please disable Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) on my email account: ******@msn.com

In less than 12 hours I had a reply and URL's in all emails since have been clear.
