Contact keeps re-appearing despite deleting, multiple copies!

I don't know what to do anymore, apart from migrating to google: ONE (and only one so far) of my contacts keep duplicating itself in my people list. No matter how many times I delete it, and where: I tried to delete both online on people.live.com and on the W10 people app. Multiple copies keep reappearing after a few hours.

This has now reached intolerable levels of frustration and I will move everything to google if a reasonable solution is not provided by MS quickly.

    All I wanted to do was get away from GOOGLE LAND - and now, if I can't get this problem cleared up, it looks like I'm going to have to go back.  The sad thing is that if you read thru these postings/forums, etc., this problem has been going on FOR YEARS.

    This should be a simple procedure.  I just want to have my Outlook Contacts and eliminate the Google contacts that keep appearing and multiplying.  I closed my Google Account, so why, why, why is this happening?  Plus, the contacts keep multiplying in the Skype contact list AND I HAVE NEVER USED SKYPE. 

    So now I have an iphone that is being impregnated by contacts out the wazoo as well as my PC.  Who do you have to know to get an answer to this OBVIOUSLY COMMON PROBLEM?

    I see what you mean about the switching speed...

    I see all my Skype contacts in that list but to be honest that's not something I paid attention to in the past!

    Also, I did a cleanup a while ago and so far no new replication, I'm not holding my breath but perhaps changes are happening?

    I am afraid I had replication already. So no improvement.

    I have also noticed that many of the contacts I had deleted in the last few days are back from the dead (in single copy, though). Only one contact so far replicates for me, but it seems that ALL contacts I delete come back.

    Oh Microsoft.
